Craig, I understand where you're coming from, but please understand that this is an ongoing series. I will be talking in further detail about this subject in future installments. Also re: the lines I've drawn on the tee shot. You need not take those as literal shot shapes. I drew wide curves simply because they are easier to see, so yes it looks like I'm advocating starting it way out over the water, though in reality I'm not...it's merely figurative. And remember, you can't plan for every single miss (you made mention of "what if you pull it?"). You could take that the other way and said "What if you try to hit a draw and quick-hook it into the water?" Or "What if you hit a big block out to the right and hit it OB?" There is risk to be taken on every single golf shot. I appreciate the feedback.

One other point.. on your shot selection for the approach shot.. a HUGE component that you didn't address is what your yardage is and club used. It's not risky to be aggressive if you are hitting a wedge, but if you're back with a 5 iron its a different mentality. My opinion is that the player always needs to be asking themself what the probable score is given the shot they are considering.. and you only play aggressive when you get a good return on the level of risk you are taking. Thanks

I don't follow the logic on the T shot for the cut. You are starting it over a hazard and cutting it toward a bunker. What if it doesn't cut? Or what if you come over it a little and pull it? You aren't getting much return for the amount of risk you are taking. If you start it out to the right you take the water out of play and a fairway bunker isn't a problem unless it plugs.

Great job Tim! I've started hitting draws on dog leg rights and fades on dog leg lefts. It's had a huge improvement on my FIRs. Strangely I've found the ball traveling closer to the pin with this strategy. ... This depends on course layout as well. Seems to work for me.
