A few years ago now, I watched a video comparison between Jack's swing, when he was "in his prime" and Tiger's swing. The purpose of the excersize was to compare their lateral sway off the ball during the backswing, and where they had transfered back to at impact. The comparison showed that they both moved laterally to their right on their backswings (measured by their head movement). Tigers lateral move was greater than Jacks', partially due, probably, to Tiger being a taller man than Jack. At impact, they both had brought their heads back to the same spot, laterally, that they had at address.
Interesting data, and by looking for other examples over the years, this seems to be a pretty universal fundamental with most skilled players. Not to detract from the Stack & Tilters, but I believe a weight transfer and move off the ball and then back to the ball at impact to be the way to go for me.
What would be some methods for swing training using this method?
