Final preparations are over. The practice rounds are done.

Today was pro-am day and the Victoria Golf Club is immaculate in all areas.

I played nicely and shot a couple under par which gives me some good confidence to carry that form into the event.

A great field is assembled with the usual suspects of Australian golf- Ogilvy, Allenby, Appleby, Parry bolstered by the high profile International players taking part this year- Poulter, Manesserro and World No.1 Luke Donald.

The weather forecast for the first two rounds is excellent and the greens will provide a tough test based on their firmness and speed and the possibility of some wind.

I get my round started at 1.12pm from the 10th tee and look forward to building a good first round score to have a solid week in my favourite tournament on the Australian calender.
