There’s lots of news swirling around the golf world today as the game’s global community prepares to watch the 2010 Open Championship on the Old Course at St. Andrews in Fife, Scotland. Everything from Tiger Wood’s putter change to Justin Rose’s hot streak has been subjects of discussion leading up to the battle for the Claret Jug. I have always found the British Open to be one of the most intriguing tournaments on the golf calendar. The history tied to the tournament and its locations, the drama witnessed over the years, and the decorated list of champions all pique my interest. The third major tournament of the season has all the promising to be one to remember. Will Tiger Woods be able to rekindle his former dominance and win his first tournament of 2010? Will we see an epic battle between a legend and a tour veteran like last year’s bout between Tom Watson and Stewart Cink? Will Graeme McDowell master the Old Course and repeat his U.S. Open performance? Or will a new comer like Justin Rose or Rory McIlroy capture his first major championship? The world will have to wait until the final round on Sunday before any of those questions are answered. However, it will be exciting to see who emerges victorious when all is said and done. Who do you think will raise the illustrious Claret Jug on Sunday? Will it be an experience veteran like Padraiq Harrington, a young gun like Rickie Fowler, or a legend like Nick Faldo? Let us know what you think.
