Henry Picard was born in November of 1906 and died April 30, 1997. Picard had a very storied career, and was one of the first members of the PGA Tour. He won 26 times, with top 10's in all four majors, and two major victories.
Johnny Miller was born April 29, 1947. He has 25 wins on the PGA Tour but is perhaps best remembered for his win at Oakmont in 1973 at the US Open. Miller shot a final round 63, hitting all 18 greens and besting some of the greatest players in the world (Nicklaus, Weiskopf, and Palmer).
Two big birthdays Today In Golf History. Long John Daly was born on this day in 1966 and Hal Sutton in 1958.
Leo Diegel was born april 27, 1899. He is best known for winning two PGA Championships ('28,'29), but he transcended golf for more than just those two years. Diegel won a total of 30 PGA Tour titles from 1920 to 1934. Included in those victories are four Canadian Open titles, a record for that tournament.
J.B. Holmes was born April 26, 1982 in Campbellsville, Kentucky. Although he's 5'11", he's known for his incredible length off the tee. Holmes has two wins on the tour, both coming at the FBR Open ('06 and '08).
