Building and owning your Swing Group Forum: Since we all had to start somewhere. I would like to start a group, where all can share their humle beginnings and the path that has lead them to where they are now.

From the first shot to the one that got you hooked. From frustration to triumph. From student to teacher, we all have one thing in common, we all love golf. Personally,1lovegolf.

So with humility, grace, and perciverance, we all have traveled the path to understanding our swing with hopes of owning it.

This group and threads will be dedicated to stories about where we were, where we are and where we want to go. There is no ending, only the journey and those we wish to share it with.

Ok- Green Lies,

Here is your Masters degree in educating the body to TURN. Stand up erect and extend your right arm out in front of you with palm facing upwards. Now rotate that right hand around to the right parallel to the ground as far as you are able to. Did your torso rotate ? I bet it did.
There - you have learned how to turn your body/ torso. You are now an expert at it.

Regards,

Lane

Lane, we all learned that in kindergarten.
Did you learn that move from Gerry H.?

Don' t be envious. I hit balls yesterday in 75 degree sunshine. It was brutal.

Check out this website NVentix.com . Look at the demo by Bryan Nicholson taken at Nike . You will learn more about shafts than you ever thought.

It seems as though the great ball striker , Mike Austin, had a few tricks up his sleeves too, just like Hogan and Mitchell.

Love that pivot too!

Eric,

I must agree, the Secret is in the Dirt, and welcome to it.

BTW, I like the forward press in your swing.

Good Luck and Keep Diggin, in the Dirt , that is.

Alright you think, it is the Arrow, not the Indian!

OK Vinny, give a $1000 scissors made from the finest German steel and gold to your wife and ask her to cut your hair!

Re: Hogan's "Ultimate" Secret 3 months, 3 weeks ago #46809

Vinny, GreenLies,

I prefer to cut my own hair I always play better with a fresh cut, that's my Secret.

Re: Hogan's "Ultimate" Secret 3 months, 3 weeks ago #46812

Coors light???

"Taste the savings."

Microbreweries all the way for me. Left Hand Milkstout and Boulevard Wheat Ale are recent favorites.

Well Timothy,

I like your style.

However, for me,and before that, it was 20 yrs of Bud, when savings was not an issue nor calories .

Why,

Because ,

"This is the famous budweiser beer. We know of no other brand, produced by any other brewer which cost so much to age and brew. It's excluxive beechwood aging produces a smoothness, a taste, a drinkability you will find in no other beer, at any price."

If I remember correctly and of course that is when I could afford a real hair cut.

High and tight!

Just thinking?

I like how he correctly orientates the club to similate an axe swing.

I like how he correctly orientates the club to simulate an axe swing.

Mark,

I like how you get to Level Left at 35 seconds.

Appears that way to me: elbows, hips and shoulders parallel and 90 deg to spine, and clubface.. sorry axe head is not released. Isnt that Ben Hogan?

linda richman,

Respectfully, there is a release, but it all depends on what you think you are releasing and at what angles they are actually released on..

What is it that you believe was inprisoned in the first place? Lag, wrist cock? Illusions , if you ask me.

This is a big reason I have spent so much time on the condition of the wrists and role of the hands. This is where all the power is managed and released, IMHO.

I am far from figuring or solving any mystery or secret, but I believe the answers are exactly where Hogan found his.

Thanks

Mark

I was referring to the Dan Whittaker/Ben Hogan video posted in The Observatory.

Never heard , Level Left before...I like it, seems something concrete we can measure ourselves against.

Whittaker defines release of the clubface, when left hand /wrist goes into extension.
Ben Hogan didnt release until near finish of his swing.

Level left results in maximum power and control, and as per Whittaker.
Suits my paradigm of body turn squaring the clubface.

When you penetrated the first log and stuck the axe into the second one, there is no way you released in Whittakers terms. The log , with axe head stuck to it, would have to be carried on around and above you to a high albeit dangerous finish.

Your just a level left kind of axe swinger, Mark.
