Favourite Driver and Why? Group Forum: Some golfers buy a driver and stick with it for years. Mostly though we are wooed by the adverts and the possibility of increased (not necessarily in order of importance)

1) Distance
2) Accuracy
3) Credibility
4) It just looks "the Biz"

I have changed my Driver three times in the last year -

First was a Cobra s9-1 pro and yes the "pro" bit was important. I wish I had kept it because I realise that swing changes would have corrected the low duck hook I developed whilst using it. However the damage was done and it kind of scared me to look at it behind the ball, so out it went.

Next was a Titliest 983K - kind of retro being a less than 400cc head. I still have this as it was so cheap to buy that it would almost not be worth selling and the great thing about this driver was the ability to hit it off the deck fairly easily mainly due to head size. Almost like an extra club.

Not sure why but it started to lose me distance and nothing seemed to get that back though maybe hitting off the ground without a tee would be an option as I still seemed to be able to get good distance there.

Now I'm on to a Callaway Fusion 3 with a D2 swingweight which I find I like. The extra weight seems to slow down my backswing a bit and I have my usual distance back which is around 280 on a good day. In fact like today, where I managed to knock it on to one of our short par 4's. Lifespan on average 4 Months so its got a few months of breathing space yet:)
