Dariusz,
I explained the 7 phases of the SPC concept to explain how the lead and rear side of the body expand/compress and when to make sure we are coordinated on what you emailed to me as far as the terminology to use. Please let me know if I have explained it correctly. I sent you an email with my latest update on the movement of the 13 joints during the 7 phases of the SPC concept swing . I wanted to get an agreement on that before explaining that in detail.
Thanks,
Rock

Rock,
This is pure golden video. Some people wanted to urge me via mails and PMs to make a visualization with description of the SPC concept, but now I do not need to do it myself with my fat body and broken English thanks to you, my friend.
Everything you said is fine with me and I will start to work on your tables in the evening on my home PC. I got your mail.
Last, but mot least -- when I watch your vid and your slo-mo motion in all 3 views I must say how perfectly looking is your motion when performing physically what occurs during the motion according to the SPC. You might put it against any slo-mo of any of best ballstriker's real swings and it would be like a macroscale copy. Quite a good validation, isn't it ?

Cheers

P.S. Great to hear your contusion is healing well.

Guys,
I went to an Orthopedic specialist this afternoon. He said the pop was my fascia tearing that covers the Medial Gastrocnemius Calf Muscle. He sees it happens all of the time with 45+ year old guys like me who play sports that they should not be playing like basketball. He gave me a CAM Walker set to 15 degrees of plantar flexion so I can hobble along without stretching the calf muscle by preventing any dorsiflexion. I have to wear it for 3 weeks and then come back to see him when he will instruct me on how to rehabilitate it. He wants me to take aspirin daily for the next 3 weeks to prevent any blot clots from the internal bleeding. I can play golf with the CAM Walker so that was some good news…I know I will enjoy the challenge of figuring out how to swing with that baby on…first thing that came to mind was when Jason told me to practice with a Ski Boot on my right foot and now I have something close to practice with for free. He said I was very fortunate that my Achilles tendon was fine because that is usually the first to go. He said it will be 6-8 weeks before I can play any basketball…will likely retire from basketball for 2012 and will think about it again in 2013.
Thanks,
Rock

Rock, I tried to tell you to quit playin "above" the rim....you're going to have to quit the alley-oop, windmill dunks and stick to a good backdoor cut for the easy lay-ups.... ;)

I know you'll figure out a way to hit balls with the boot on and rehab as hard as anyone can! Get well soon!

John,

This is the first instance that I have seen in this site of someone actually wishing someone ill will publicly on our forum. That is very low and actually I find it kind of sad.

We've had name calling, foul language and all sorts of other argument based things that I have had to police when tempers have flared. But this...I don't know what to even say about it. It is an insult to the site. In a way you've insulted yourself by stooping to such comments. You never struck me as the type that would actually utter hate.... but clearly you have.

Perhaps I should just ban you but I've messaged you with a request for an explanation.

Thank you Dean..................you are so correct...

i think of doug as a son.....or younger brother...............i love the guy

i treasure my friends.....he is ONE of my best........on here and in person

i have tried 1000 ways to slow him down......and now he found 1...

mike maves (who is the best) asked if i was spewing hate.....?

to me its called "tough love" if anything happened to DOUG...it would be shattering to me.

i love the guy................he is the best.................but sometimes...you have to CALL OUT

the ones you love.........hated to do it......but all avenues were tried..

anyway............thanks for the quick understanding

I will Let Rock chime in But I know that Doug spent a week in Florida earlier this year ( I talked to Rock on Cell phone and he had been at range for 6 hours with John). They are friends and John has a sarcastic sense of humor. He has kidded Doug before.

It's all in good Fun certainly Elk is an example of someone that likes to break peoples chops ( I mean that in a good way)

I think this is just another example of someone jumping to clusion and making a post before they had all the facts. A PM would have solved this issue without calling out a good guy like John

Bill,

I hear what you are saying. John has replied and I am accepting of his explanation. Perhaps you are correct that a PM from me could have sufficed, but likewise a PM from John to Rock could have achieved his goals without subjecting the rest of us to a message that clearly would not be understood by that vast majority of people who might stumble upon it here. In short the context of this needed to be clarified here and in public and in the forum thread in which it was posted because context needed to be provided here. If I thought that no explanation existed I would simply have banned John. I think you will agree that this matter can now be put behind us all. John has made his point to Rock and we all know now that this was the reason for his post. This would not likely have been the outcome if this were all addressed behind closed doors.

Mike,

I have followed this thread from the beginning and John has posted several times jabs at Rock that were obviously in Fun. I realize that You have to monitor this and maintain some semblance of order. I was not meaning that you should have PM John . I appreciate that John may have went to far but Lane Could have use the same logic ( never A.S.S.U.M.E) and PM John before calling him out.

I know many times I have questioned the sanity of Doug (Kidding around) I mean he has hit balls in sub teen weather, a foot of snow, on a tennis court, just to name a few of the many things he has tried to get his optimum swing.

The thing that attracted me to your original video's was a guy with a dog and a camera man hitting balls into a lake claiming he new Hogan's and Moes Secret. I think that project worked out pretty well so that I hope you will continue to allow the freedom for people to have fun learning the greatest game ever.

I Appreciate your response

John,
You are a great friend and I appreciate the point you were making, but you definitely went over the line with saying you were happy I hurt myself and wishing it was worse publicly. I like what you said after that to clarify what you really meant to say...slow down and don't hurt yourself again, but didn't the first time. Please refrain from saying or infering hurtful things like that to me or anyone else moving forward. You have never treated me like that privately so you shouldn't do it publicly. I know you were not joking in what you said and you were going for a below the belt blow to stagger me into realizing that I need to take care of myself and not put my friends above myself and my own family. Yes, I realize that I made an error in judgment with playing in that basketball game...but I am human and this isn't the first or last error in judgment I will make. I will learn from this error and become stronger for it.

I still consider you my friend and I will do better to respect my own health moving forward. Let's move forward and please support my efforts to get back to being healthy again. I will keep helping you to hit all pure shots and to be a great friend to you. I love both you and L. Both of you bring a lot of joy in my life and have done so much for me. I am not sure why I am so fortunate to have you both, but I thank God for that every day. I want you both to stay at my house for a vacation when you get a chance.

Lane,
You did the right thing and I appreciate that. I would like to get to know you better so let me know if you want to talk.

Mike,
I have much respect to you for responding the way you did. It makes me feel good that you did the right thing here and hopefully we can keep this thread on track from now on. All of this originated from my error in getting hurt in the first place. If that didn't happen, none of it would have happened so I am the root cause. You are always welcome at my house if you are ever in the DC area.

Bill,
Yes, Val is a Saint. I appreciate your mediation efforts here and you are a good friend to me. Since you know me and we have discussed all of the great things John has done for me, it is easier for you to understand the situation here. Lane and Mike did the right thing here though. You are always welcome at my house if you are ever in the DC area.

Dean,
I appreciate your efforts to mediate. We still need to Skype so we can collaborate on the golf swing.

Cy,
I am glad you and your wife like that video. When I was a member at a country club, all of the guys there would use me for bargaining with their wife to play more. Look at Dougie...he is out on the range all day so why can't I hit a few balls for an hour. All you have to do is show a few of my videos with Val holding my hair in 90F heat, going to Beamont and Florida for a week each with me so I could practice Golf or doing a video of my Rockfossa to prove that the time you spend on golf is nothing compared to Dougie and look at what Val has to deal with....you have it easy, Honey! Val and I love everything about Golf especially the people involved so I am glad you enjoy the videos. I plan to keep working hard to improve so you have not seen anything yet. I would like to get the opportunity to meet you and your wife so let me know.

I am ready to get back to the helping Dirters with their Golf and doing better myself.

Thanks,
Rock

Rock,

Sorry to hear about the overuse injury. I'm going through a sorta similar issue (tricep tendon) and can sympathize. I know it can be depressing but be patient and give it the time it takes along with faithfully sticking to the rehab regime.

It was encouraging to read Drew's and others posts, elsewhere, about the advantage in retention and progress gained from both pacing your practice and or changing up what you are practicing. This will be my new method from now on, especially the pacing part, along with more attention paid to the early warning signs that tell us to either lay off and rest or to at least give the affected area a little rehab before something more serious happens.

Rock sorry about the injury. Although I totally get what John is trying to say to you. In the Biomechanices of life Doug we can all every one of us talk Biomechanics of evry little move we make. At the moment of truth all the resposability of that shot at that moment lies in the Bicep Tricep and fingertips. Ill challenge anyone to prove that wrong. The fact that you injured your Calf is disturbing mainly because one has nada to to with the other in a moving body. feet and legs get us to some spot to shoot the ball. from there the work is all done in the biceps and triceps. Golf more than anyother sport. our feet just get us close enought to hit it. While I am the first to admit how proud of you I am about learning your DYNAMIC body. I will be the first to point out that the point of learning it is to realize what not to do. You can run workout stretch lift weights and do whatever but in the end its always the biceps triceps and fingertips that have to make it all happen they run the show. You can train for years trying to get them out or train for only weeks to master whatever it is your trying to do. the rest of the body must learn to support that function. Mechanical Motion is so easy to do and simple that using the Big words and thinking Stretching or flexing will make us better is a road so traveled its full of cripples. You may want to take this time and just think about WHAT IS DOUG looking for. Its not a Golf swing because I have played with you and you have a great one of those. Power comes to mind well you have personal limits we all do. If a person just cannot find that LENGTH they are looking for then maybe they are looking in the wrond spots. When is the last time you went and checked your hand speed or even drilled for faster hand speed. You have seen mine Doug upclose and in person if they made a shaft to keep up then no telling how fast my clubhead speed could be. the reason my feet dont move is that simple because my hands move. We have talked many nights on the subject I know. When your body gets hurt that is the time you sit back and really take note of WHAT AM I DOING. In the end the answer your looking for will surface and in the end you either live with it or not. Living with the ANSWER is a very warm and comforting place it allows one to move on to more important task like Playing the game they are practicing. Sorry for the injury but remember all the things you are going through I have done tried understood and eliminated what has real value. in the endits just these.

1. Fingers and hand
2. Biceps and forearm
3. Triceps and forearm

when you breal it all down front to back up to down inside and out those things make all the difference in yor Mechanical Life not just Golf in everything..... Get well stay well and play well............Take care my firend....

I have been studying and doing Dariusz's Sagital Plance Compression (SPC) Concept for well over a year now...along with experimenting with many other swing concepts....some of my own and some of others. I wanted to catalog what I am doing in my swing currently as it relates to the SPC Concept's 7 swing phases in the three planes of the human body...sagital, coronal, and transverse. Dariusz has reviewed my work and given me feedback over the last few days that has been very helpful...many thanks to my friend Dariusz for his efforts. I wanted to get this out here so we can begin to have a very meaningful dialog about what the golf swing is and is not in a very precise and defined manner. I expect to continue to refine what I am doing as I learn more and welcome feedback directed at either improving, correcting, validating, or disproving what I have done as well as Dariusz's original concept that I used as the foundation for my work.

Being knowledgeable about what the human body does in the golf swing is very important to ultimately owning your golf swing. You have to know what you want to do in order to be able to do it…this is a foundation to learn what you want to do and it will take a dedicated effort and a lot of time to do it. My intention is not to say this is the only way as I have experimented with many different variations in what I am setting forth here. I also realize that every human body is different and what I can do well may not suite someone else. The point is to give a blueprint for what I consider to be important aspects of the golf swing to optmize in an effort to help others who want to own their golf swing as I want too. It is so enjoyable to be on this journey and be able to share what I have learned thus far in this way. I hope this is the start of a new chapter in the understanding of the golf swing.
Thanks,
Rock
