fred funk_1_20120322_1693164227On June 8, 2009, Fred Funk became the oldest qualifier for the US Open, at age 53. He shot a 36 hole total of 139 at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Maryland. He would end up finishing 60th in the event.

Funk turned pro in 1981, and won a total of 8 tournaments on the PGA Tour, the highlight of which was the Players Championship title he won in 2005. 

On the Champions Tour, Funk has won 7 tournaments, including 3 major titles. 

His career earnings combined from the Champions Tour and the PGA Tour total over $28,000,000.
