Tin Cup chronicles the story of a washed-up driving range pro who grinds his way into the US Open and plays four of the most memorable rounds of golf in history, and hits a shot on the 72nd hole that no one will soon forget. He slays inner and outer demons along the way, and wins the heart of Molly Griswold (Rene Russo).
The movie is a small part of golf's history as a whole, but there have always been movies that attempt to capture the essence of the game on the big screen. Caddyshack, Legend of Bagger Vance, Follow the Sun, and Greatest Game Ever Played all tell important stories with golf as their backdrop.
Hollywood loves to tell David vs. Goliath stories, and this movie does not dissapoint. Most golfers rank this among the top golf films of all time, but every golfer has his/her own personal favorite.
