On August 16, 1996, Tin Cup was released to audiences nationwide. The film stars Kevin Costner, Rene Russo, Cheech Marin, and Don Johnson as part of the main ensemble. Golf Commentator Gary McCord also makes a cameo in the film, as well as PGA Tour player Steve Elkington.

He slays inner and outer demons along the way, and wins the heart of Molly Griswold (Rene Russo).
The movie is a small part of golf's history as a whole, but there have always been movies that attempt to capture the essence of the game on the big screen. Caddyshack, Legend of Bagger Vance, Follow the Sun, and Greatest Game Ever Played all tell important stories with golf as their backdrop.
Hollywood loves to tell David vs. Goliath stories, and this movie does not dissapoint. Most golfers rank this among the top golf films of all time, but every golfer has his/her own personal favorite.
