On September 2, 1990, Nick Faldo became the number 1 ranked player in the world for the first time, besting Greg Norman for the title. He held the title on and off for a total of 98 weeks.
During his professional golf career, Faldo won forty events across the world, including six major titles (3 Masters and 3 Open Championships). He also placed second at the US Open and PGA Championship.
Faldo's 30 wins on the European Tour places him fifth on the list of all time winners on the European Tour, behind Ballesteros, Langer, Woods, and Montgomerie.
Nick was the European Tour Player of the Year, twice the order of Merit winner, and is now a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.
