  • I recently created a method of using 2 putts on the practice green to establish for the golfer's personal delivery pace and the green speed how much the ball breaks for all slopes and all distances out to about 15 feet or so, in terms of either how many inches of break to play per foot of putt or what percentage of the putt length the break is. • I'm a 28 handicap golfer in the UK who generally putts 3-4 times on each hole with the occasional 2 putt.
I watched TRoP a couple of weeks back and have been practicing in my office once per week on average when time allows.

Yesterday I went out for my first round of golf in 2 months and I 2-putted every single hole. This DVD is a God-send! Great work Geoff and Elk!

  • The Reality of Putting is the best video that I have seen on rolling the rock.

This Video has a great explanation on how to put the best roll on the ball.

Thanks to Geoff and all the "Dirt" team for making this availble.

  • I have been putting with a Wilson 8882 for the past three or four months. I like the weight and the nice clean lines. No strange shapes, no distracting lines and curves. Simply square the blade to the intended line and then feel the distance.

  • I've learned more from Jackie Burke's lessons on putting then any putting guru I've seen or read. I would like to know what Mr. Burke thinks of The Reality of Putting?

  • To me the best thing I have learned from Geoff Mangum is the evaporation point concept. When I set up on the baseline and move off of it, I can really feel the effect of the 'extra' gravity force I will have to contend with. This has helped me immeasurably improve my touch on breaking putts. We all know that speed is a big factor in determining line. This is the best way I have ever tried to really 'feel' that speed. My brain just 'knows' now.

  • Been doing your putting method now for 4+ months, saved my putting, period, now I absolutely love the opportunity to sink a putt! The great thing about the method is it works when your hands are shaking. Lol, no really it does. Nice job on the video, it was very well done!!

  • If you want to know how good a 25 footer feels ask Graeme McDowell!

  • Everybodys buying your video mangum....a lot of one putts coming to the dirters........I know a long iron shot onto the green feels good or ripping a drive on a narrow hole........but how good does a 25 footer feel like!!!!!

I believe Frank is correct, tempo stays the same. What I've found while working with a metronome is that on longer putts you have to speed up the backswing to produce a longer stroke, this way you can match the tempo of of smaller slower stroke for shorter putts. Perhaps this relates to what Frank is saying about using muscle power to take the club away, and then letting it fall. Using a metronome you can try different tempos until you find one that works for you on all length putts.
