  • Early morning or early evening are the best times. Contrast. Shadows. Especially like to play at those times walking alone.

  • Just found this group. For me, there is no golf without walking. Yes, one may be compelled use a cart in work or charitable outings, so I take the rider's side and walk as much as possible. The one thing in golf that frustrates me is watching teenagers in carts. At my Dad's club the rule was one had to be 55 or have a medical certificate to take a cart. Those were the days! Mind you, if you can play only if you take a cart due to age or health, have on! Glad to have you on the course. But four guys in their twenties riding around drinking beer and smoking cigars? That's golf? Not for me.

  • I agree with Elk, evening is a great time to walk the course and enjoy the contrasts between the angled sunlight and the dark shadows. This time of the year is particularly great since we know the evenings are getting short and the air is getting cool. Traffic at the courses really drops after Labor Day and dropping a couple of balls on the grass is a great way to end a late summer/early fall day.

  • I've just had a defibulater-pacemaker implanted. I probably would not hve lasted this long without the walk. Carry my own bag. Hope to get back to it soon. with it in the way I don't know how I'll swing. Any suggestions?

A group for those who love to walk when they play for the many benefits it provides.

The Secret is in the Dirt - and every step of every round reminds us of that.

Feel the course, enjoy the walk and love the game.

Please share stories of your great walks!
There are no announcements yet.
